West Virginia State University Athletics

Mr Wares was an NAIA all - American football player at West Virginia State from 1932- 33.
After that he went on to coach at Weirton Dunbar, West Virginia  (all sports) from 1934 through 1955.
After integration he continued at Weir High as an assistant coach in football, basketball and track. 
In the last few years of his tenure he finally became wrestling coach before retiring in 1965.
