Jones, who died in 1975, will be honored posthumously for his athletic accomplishments at State where he was a member of the class of 1939.

An injury ended his football career, but he continued playing basketball for the Yellow Jackets as a center and was team captain during his junior and senior years.

He served in Korea as a pilot, and upon his return to the States, was commander of the ROTC program at Tuskegee Institute.
