Harry Jerome Revenel is the youngest of ten children born to the Reverend James and the late Bernice Ravenel. He was born on October 10, 1961 in Charleston, South Carolina. Harry was a stand-out athlete in football, basketball and track at Baptist Hill High School. Harry was a two sport starter, excelling in football which earned him 1st All-Conference selection.

 

He was recruited as a quarterback by “State” and was a 3 year starter. In his senior year he was a two way starter, as a quarterback and defensive back. Harry was selected “Player of the Week” 5 times in his last two seasons at “State”. He led the team in interceptions in 1982 & 1983, helping to rank the team #1 in the NAIA. Harry graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.

 

He was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army, where he served proudly for 8 years. Since leaving the Army, Harry has had a productive career with Hertz Corporation as City Manager for 15 years. He also served as Operations Manager for 3 years with Avis/Budget and is currently a Senior Logistics Analyst for Claxton Logistics Services.

 

After settling down in Stafford, Virginia in 1994, Harry coached Little League football, basketball and soccer. He enjoys volunteering his time to the Virginia Youth Football League and many other community programs.

 

Harry and his wife Ana have three wonderful boys, Eddie, Brandon and Devin. Being blessed with three beautiful grand-daughters has kept Harry and Ana busy but, they are enjoying every minute. Harry would like to thank everyone who made West Virginia State (University) a very memorable place for him.
