William J. Kirk, Jr. enrolled at West Virginia State College in the fall of 1966, after being recruited by Coach Frank Enty. He was a 4 year starter on the “Yellow Jackets” basketball team. During that time, “State” had four winning seasons and several championship appearances in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament.
After graduating from “State” in 1970 with a degree in Zoology, he pursued a career in Veterinary Medicine. In the summer of 1978, Bill received a Masters Degree in Veterinary Parasitology, from the Tuskegee Institute School of Veterinary Medicine. He was accepted into the Doctorial Program in 1982 and was awarded the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the Tuskegee Institute. Dr. Kirk completed an internship in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery, at the University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. William W. Kirk has been married to Mrs. Hattie J. Kirk for thirty-six years and they have five children, who are all college graduates. Dr. Kirk is presently a Veterinary Practitioner in Birmingham, Alabama.
